5 Ways to Create a Life you Love

Do you remember being young and being filled with dreams, hopes and possibilities? Day dreaming about what you might become, the kind of house you would have, how your life would be?

Do you wonder how you got to a point of no longer dreaming and imagining those possibilities for your life? It’s as if one day you were full of possibilities and wonder and  the next your’e in groundhog day, stressed, tired and feeling like life is an uphill struggle.  Your job is demanding, family life is exhausting, others expectations of you feel like a burden, and somewhere in the chaos part of you is crying out to be set free and find who you truly are.

So how do you get back to that enchanted state of wonder, possibility, dreaming and imagining, and how do you make it happen for you in your life?

Know what you want 

Are you living the life you want? Does it bring you joy? Do you have positive relationships? Do you feel fulfilled and content? Do you have daily habits that preserve your energy and look after your health and wellbeing? Knowing what you want is key in CREATING a life you love. Focussing your thoughts and energy on things that make you unhappy are going to zapp your enthusiasm and zest for life. So get clear on what you want. Make a list of five things that are important to you. Write down what you have to do to make these things happen. Formulate a  plan and action it bit by bit.

Believe that it is possible

Sometimes the stresses of life and the challenges that we face can prevent us from feeling inspired and lead us to feeling flat and deflated. Recovering a sense of wonder and belief that it is possible to live a life you love, can help to kickstart the creative part of your brain so that you can visualise and imagine a life of possibilities. What stops you from achieving the things you want to? What stories do you tell yourself about who you are ‘not’ and what you ‘can’t do? In the words of Marianne Williamson ‘ It is our light not our dark that most frightens us. We ask ourselves who am I to be brilliant, courageous, talented and fabulous. Actually who are you not to be?’

Do the inner work 

Are you holding yourself back with limiting beliefs and disempowering internal conversations. Does the inner critic, the one that tells you your’e not good enough stop you from doing things you want to? Is it time to dig deep and learn more about yourself. ‘Perhaps the journey isn’t about becoming anything. Maybe it’s about unbecoming everything that isn’t really you, so you can be who you were meant to be in the first place.’

Take Action 

Decide what you want to do and do it! Take steps every day towards what you want to achieve. Whether it is to have more flourishing relationships, feel calmer inside, be more present, go for that dream job, start a business, start a new hobby or save for that dream holiday. Whatever it is, do something every day that is working towards it and say YES to it. Be courageous to be all that you can be.

Embrace all of life’s ups and downs

No matter what challenges come your way, do your best to find the learning and the opportunity for growth. It might seem really difficult at the time and you might feel that the struggle won’t end. It is important to remind yourself that nothing is permanent. Feelings and emotions fluctuate, circumstances change and one thing that is certain is that nothing remains the same.
