The Drifting Bottle
I heard a wonderful story on the news today about a 5 year old that put a letter in a bottle, sent it out to sea and was contacted 18 years later by the person who found it. It really warmed my heart to hear how much joy it had brought him and that him and the lady who found it remained in touch š§”
š¤ It also got me thinking about the ādriftingā bottle and the journey it had been on before getting to its destination.
šI wondered what sights it had seen, the experiences it had encountered, the creatures of the sea that it had met along the way, the storms it had weathered and how it hadnāt been cracked by them.
š¤I wondered about itās direction and how it came to get steered to where it landed.
šI wondered about the destination and how the destination wasnāt the final destination. It was yet another beginning, the beginning of something new, different to what it had previously been. With more wisdom, understanding, compassion and gratitude . I wondered what would be next ……
š It got me wondering about our own journey and how it feels when we are drifting.
ā¹ļøDo we feel directionless, lost, scared and broken?
š¤·āāļø Or do we embrace the uncertainty, enjoy the journey, look for opportunities and have new adventures along the way.
šThen I wondered about the destination …… the destination not really being the destination at all. Rather another opportunity to continue learning, evolving and growing and creating even more magic and wonderous things within our life š§”
